Dear friends of Team Read,

Many of you know that for the past several months, Team Read has undertaken a careful search for our next great leader. We’re thrilled to announce today that Ebony Pattenaude, a longtime friend and partner of Team Read, has joined as our new Executive Director.

Ebony comes to us from the Renton School District, where she was the Director of Renton Innovation Zone Partnerships and Early Learning. In this role, Ebony was instrumental in bringing Team Read to Renton schools, where our partnership continues to grow. She has extensive experience working with students and their families, building support programs from the ground up. Ebony will bring her passion for connecting schools and communities to Team Read, growing the organization to reach more young readers, and making meaningful job opportunities available to more local teens.

Ebony really stood out in a field of talented applicants. We were all impressed with her strong background in building partnerships to improve educational outcomes, and the board and staff all agreed that the energy and enthusiasm she brings will support our growth in the coming years. With her extensive experience working with schools and families in South King County, Ebony is poised to help our program grow to reach students where they are and where they most need reading support.

Ebony, who grew up in the Pacific Northwest, holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, and earned her Executive Master’s degree in Public Administration from the Evans School at the University of Washington.

Thank you for joining us in welcoming Ebony to the Team Read community. Soon we’ll share opportunities for you to meet in person, and in the meantime, we invite you to reach out to us at any time.

The future of Team Read looks bright, and we’re excited about what this next
chapter holds.

 With Gratitude,

The Team Read Board of Directors
