Team Read site coordinators – the educators who oversee our powerful pairs’ tutoring sessions –  have played a pivotal role in executing our virtual program this year and ensuring everyone had a positive experience during Team Read. They made calls to families to help students get online, led professional development sessions for teen coaches, observed and supported reading pairs, and so much more. On behalf of everyone at Team Read, THANK YOU for all you’ve done to make the 2020-21 program a huge success!

“Team Read site coordinators are the heart and soul of our program. This year, they adapted quickly to the online format for Team Read and created safe spaces for teens and students to connect and learn. I am so inspired by the work that our site coordinators do every day. They are building strong leaders in our teen coaches, and they brought the excitement of reading to hundreds of kids at a time when we all needed to connect with others.”

– Bill Eisele, Team Read Project Coordinator

“Together, the Team Read site coordinators have been creative in supporting each other and in welcoming and engaging both coaches and readers.  Being virtual has allowed us to get to know our coaches and readers as individuals, and as pairs.  It makes it easy to engage when you are looking at all your coaches and readers together on one screen! I think the readers and coaches also feel more connected to each other because we start and end each session as a group.

As a site coordinator, I feel I am better able to support the pairs and observe coaches following the curriculum with fidelity to provide real-time feedback.”

– Sandy Gunder, John Muir Site Coordinator and Summer Programs Manager

Team Read teen site assistants, who supported site coordinators and coaches this year, also had lots of wonderful things to say as well. Check out this video with their reflections.
